Lam Dal is the biggest Lake in Dhauladhar Range and the second largest in Himachal with the circumference of 2.5 kms is considered to be sacred in Himachal and considered as an home of Shiva and Shakti. Lama Lake is situated at an altitude of 3962 meters. The water in this lake is obtained from melting snow. It is is considered as holly lake in the valley. Hundreds of devotee arrive every year to take a holy dip in the Lake during Pilgrimage. These Pilgrimage starts in in the month of august with the festival of shri Krishan Janmashtami and ends on the day of Radha Ashtami. A small Temple of Lord Shiva is also situated here.It can be reached only by trekking via Inderhar Pass, Gaj Pass and Minkiani Pass.

Kareri Lake

These are the group of seven lakes hence it is also called the area of the seven lakessuch as  Nag Dal Lake, Lam Dal Lake, Kali Kund, Kareri lake, Chanderkoop Lake or the Moon Lake, Sukh Dal and the Dam Ghodi Dal. Kali kund lake is about 150 metres below Lam Dal. It is worshipped by devotees and considered as abode of goddess kali. Chanderkup (Moon lake) is a beautiful lake situated at an altitude of 4100 metres. Nag-dal lake is situated at an altitude of 4200 metres near the lndrahara pass and it is related to the Bhagsu Nag waters. Gaj Pass is shortest and most suited pass to reach Lam Dal as ascent from Dharamshala ends just above the lake. Kareri Lake is a shallow and fresh water lake located in the Dhauladhar range, about 9 km northwest of Dharamsala in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, with a altitude of 2934 meters above sea level. Apart from being a major sightseeing spot, Kareri Lake is also a very popular trekking spot in the Dhauladhar Range.

The area  around the lama lake are mostly uninhabited due to harsh climate. This lake is a scenic paradise for nature lovers and a blissful treat for the divine souls.
