1. Manali

Manali is situated at an altitude of 2050 meters above sea level in the state of Himachal Pradesh. It is the first choice of tourists who want to visit in a hill station. Manali is a part of Kullu district, which is situated at a distance of 250 km from the capital of Himachal. According to Hindu mythology, the name Manali is derived from Manu who was created by Lord Brahma. Tourists can visit Himalaya National Park, Hidimba Temple, Solang Valley, Rohtang Pass, Pandoh Dam, Pandrakani Pass, Raghunath Temple and Jagannath Devi Temple while visiting here. The Hadimba Temple here was built in 1533 AD dedicated to goddess Hadimba. Manali's Solang Valley is at an altitude of 300 meters where winter skiing festival is organized every year in winter. At the same time, Rohtang Pass is a hill picnic spot which is also known as Zipavel Road. Manali is also known for its adventure activities such as mountaineering, mountain biking, river rafting, trekking, jorving and paragliding. There are Rohtang Pass, Dev Divva Base Camp, Pin Narvati Pass, Bal Lake etc. near Manali which will surely appeal to the tourists. Mountain biking can also be done in Manali but the best and proper time to do biking here is in the month of September.

2. Kullu

Kullu, the 'Valley of the Gods', is a beautiful district of Himachal Pradesh. The valley got its name because of the belief that it was once home to many Hindu gods, goddesses and divine spirits. Situated at an altitude of 1230 meters on the banks of the Beas River, it is known for its spectacular natural environment. Kullu is also mentioned in great Indian epics such as Ramayana, Mahabharata, Vishnu Purana. Discovered by Bihangmani Pal, a resident of Tripura, the history of this beautiful hill station dates back to the first century. This beautiful place to visit in summer is surrounded by steep hills, pine forests, rivers, and apple orchards and is famous among tourists from all over the world for its natural beauty. Apart from this, Kullu is also famous for its rich culture, Dusehra, ancient forts, religious places, wildlife sanctuaries and dams. Kullu is also known for various adventure sports like trekking, mountaineering, hiking, paragliding, and river rafting.

3. Kasol

Situated in the kullu district of Himachal Pradesh in Parvati Valley, Kasol is a popular tourist destination. Kasol Village is also known as Mini Israel because of its Israeli tourists. Kasol Village is situated on the bank of Parvati River. The distance between Kullu to Kasol is about 40 kilometer. Kasol is very popular between the nature lovers, as they can comfortably enjoy the peace and open air in the lap of nature. There are many places to visit in Kasol like Parvati river, Kheer Ganga trek, Malana Village, Tosh village, Manikaran and Bhuntar etc. Kasol is very famous between trekking lovers. There are treks like Kheer Ganga Trek, Malana trek, The Great Himalayan National Park Trek etc near Kasol. Surrounded by the dense forest of deodar, pine trees and snow capped mountains gives a senic view of nature, which makes Kasol even more beautiful. The valley of Kasol gives tourists the opportunity to visit the place, where tourists can freely observe the natural beauty up close, and also refresh themselves by breathing in the open air. 

 4. Spiti Valley

Spiti Valley is a cold desert located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The region offers a splendid glimpse of the snow-capped mountains of Himalayan range. Spiti Valley is situated at an altitude of 3810 meters and is surrounded by Himalayas from all sides. Spiti valley is one of the coldest places in India. The beauty of the valley is very relaxing to the eyes, its ancient lakes like Cahandratal Lake, passes like parangala pass, pin parvati pass, baba pass and blue sky attract people very much. "Spiti" means "The middle land", which means land between Tibet and India. The senic beauty of the valley and the monasteries attract tourists and trekkers from all over the world. Spiti Valley is open to tourists only for 250 days in a year and in the remaining 100 days, there is heavy snowfall here.

5. Chitkul

Chitkul is a beautiful village situated in the lap of Himalaya is the last village of India near Indo-China border. This village is situated at an altitude of 3450 meters from the sea level. The favorable environment here attracts tourists from all over the world in the summer season. This village is located on the bank of Baspa River and it is the last village of the Baspa Valley.There is a board in the valley which states as the last village of India. Tourists who come here like to take photos in front of this board. It is known for many adventure activities like trekking, fishing, camping, river rafting etc.


6. Dalhousie

Dalhousie is a tourist point situated in the Dhauladhar range located in Himachal Pradesh. Dalhousie was established in the year 1854 by a British governor, Lord Dalhousie, so that he could spend his summer relaxing moments in a cool and quiet place. Dalhousie is a town built on five hills namely Kathlog, Porten, Tehra, Bakrota and Baloon which covers a total area of 13 sq.km. spread over the area. At that time there was a general of the British Empire, Lord Napier, who also proposed to open a hospital at a height on this hill site so that many serious diseases of the people of Chanda could be treated. There are many such places in Dalhousie area where tourists can visit. Most of the tourists like to go to church here. The famous places here are St. Andrew's, St. Patrick's, St. Francis Church, St. John's Church etc. The Jandrighat palace which was built by the Chamba rulers here, its architecture impresses the tourists a lot

7. SHIMLA

Shimla is the capital of Himachal Pradesh located in the north of India. The cool climate of Shimla makes it very conducive to live in. Shimla was named after Shyamal Devi who was a form of Mother Kali. It is situated in a various hills and the Himalayan mountains are visible from here. Shimla is surrounded by the border of Solan, Uttar Pradesh. In ancient times, Shimla had only dense forests, but the climate there attracted the British to urbanize Shimla. Earlier Shimla used to be the capital of East Punjab which was later made the capital of Himachal. Shimla was also known as the summer capital of British India in 1846. Shimla is a main center of tourism. Here Jakhu Temple, Ridge and Mall Rod together constitute the main center of Shimla. Shimla also has the largest ice skating rink in South India. The people of Shimla are also called as Shimlawais. People celebrate many festivals here, out of which the five-day long summer festival is famous. Due to the snowfall, the roofs of the houses here are made of tin. The tallest statue of Hanuman ji is installed in the Jakhu temple here. It is said that Hanuman ji rested at this place while carrying Sanjeevani Butti. A 7-day carnival is held every year before Christmas near the Ridge. There is an open mall rod in front of it, from where the view of the mountains is very beautiful. Shimla also has many educational and research institutes.

8.  Dharamshala

Dharamshala  is situated at an altitude of 1457 meters in  Kangra district  of  Himachal  Pradesh  in  the  lap  of  Dhauladhar  Range.  It  is divided in to two parts i.e Lower  Dharamshala  known for  kotwali bazaar & Upper Dharamshala known as Mcleodganj which is known as home of tibetian Dalai Lama. Dharamshala is surrounded by Pine & Oak trees. Bhagsunag is about 1.5 KM from Mcleodganj which is  famous for waterfall and Bhagsunag Temple. Naddi is a famous spot to view the mighty Dhauladhar Range as well as the view of sunrise & sunset over the mountains in Naddi is extremely beautiful. Triund trek is one of the most popular treks of India which facilitates trekking & camping. 


9. Bir Biling

Bir is a very beautiful city situated in the Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh in North India. Bir Billing is know for its paragliding activity. Bir has got fame in the best places in the world for this sport. Every year World Paragliding Championships is also organised in this city. The paragliders take off from Billing for paragliding and the landing place is called Bir. This area is a very popular for trekking, paragliding, Mountain Biking, cycling etc. Paragliding is usually done from march to November. It is the Paragliding capital of India.

10. Khajjiar

Khajjiar is a wonderful hill station situated in the beautiful plains of Himachal Pradesh. This Khajjiar Hill Station is very famous as "Khajjiar Mini Switzerland in Himachal Pradesh". Khajjiar is famous all over the world for its beauty and enchanting environment. Khajjiar is situated at an altitude of 6500 feet above sea level.Khajjiar really makes you feel like a mini Switzerland. Even though Khajjiar is a small tourist destination, it is no less than any hill station in India in terms of popularity and its natural beauty.As soon as you enter Khajjiar, you will first see the most famous grassland of Khajjiar. This meadow will definitely remind you of the real Switzerland.
